A life outside of class can get pretty mundane when activities in the school are small in numbers and do not exactly cater to the various interests of the students in MDIS. Well, thats what the Student Council is here for. To provide clubs and societies that will get students to be involved in as part of their school curriculum.
A new Karate Club is currently in the process of getting approved by the school board. Trainers from Ashihara Karate, a club that has been in Singapore for the past 20 years, will be hired to conduct weekly lessons for students in this ancient art of self defence. But it's not going to stop just at that. Students whom are training with the club trainers will also get a chance to attend grading sessions three times a year so that students can move on from their respective ranks.
More info will be provided once the proposal to set up for this club reaches the final stages of approval from the school. So keep an eye out on this blog and start practicing those chops in the mean time.
