Not Preachin', Just Sayin'.
I don't separate my household thrash into piles of paper products, plastics, and glass. Neither do I make compost out of my fruits, vegetables and eggshells. While we may claim that it is troublesome to recycle at home, both you and I do not have any excuse to not make use of the recycling bins in our school.
It sure takes effort to walk to the line of three bins just to throw your empty can of Jasmine Green Tea but hey, those extra steps sure aren't hurtful.
And when you buy a chicken
siew mai with a
pau at the canteen, perhaps you can ask for the two food items to be put together in one bag, instead of the standard practice of separating them in a plastic bag
and a paper bag.
A journey of a thousand miles begin with a single step and while we may have a long road ahead of us in this personal recycling journey, I am sure that every little bit we do for Mother Earth counts.
