Wherefore Art Thou, Student Privileges?
As students of a private institute, we may not be privy to all student privileges and discounts available.
It may be free entry for tertiary students at MoS before 11 PM but then, the term "tertiary students" is pretty confusing. I tried to get my hands on a student concession ticket to WoMAD but was denied as my student ID is not "government-issued" and therefore not recognised.
That was why I was pleasantly surprised that a certain cinema chain accepted my MDIS student ID under the "tertiary student" category when I got tickets to see a horrid horror flick. I maximised the offer a few good times till it ended in April.
Now, my point is that we are students. Regardless of the schools we come from, I think we should be entitled to all student concessions available. If we are not tertiary students, what are we then? To continuously dub us as "private students" seems deragatory and discriminatory to me.
This request is within reason because we are all students, no?
