Back with New Taste!
Never thought that the last Politics module will contribute something good to blogging... All the wars, downturns, recession, inflations of America were still fresh in mind... The connection lies in the fact that the U.S. in the 60s were celebrating their best moments... Not forgetting fashion... Jacqueline Kennedy was the style-setter of that era followed by Audrey Hepburn (the most gorgeous woman and the fashion icon.. even till now)
Still guessing? We are talking 'bout Fashion in the 60s and 70s!
The 60s were the days of hippies which means.. colorful clothes, mix-match, long hair, bandanna (any large scarf for the neck or head) and also beehive hairdos (Amy Winehouse and tai-tai's favorite hairstyles.. haha)
Movie which represents the 60s, together with the fashion will be Hairspray
Fashion keeps on evolving and now, we reach the 70s...
Do you know that mini skirt and hip jeans started during this era? Yeap.. but the irony is that, although the economy recovers, girls still cut-off their clothings as mini skirts and 'hip hugger' jeans gained its moments... ;p
Vests became popular during this era and guys even wore a three-piece suits to disco club and parties like in the ever popular Saturday Night Fever movie)
Women of the 70s were pretty much on par with man in the context that they, too, work to earn a living... In that era, most girls got to pursue higher education while women started to have shorter hair... Fashion followed this movement with platform shoes for woman anddd for man... uh huh.. you read that right...
Actually, you can still see these vintage styles in our uniCampus... Girls nowadays love to be spotted in their vintage leather bags, huge shades, bandanna and probably, a smaller beehive hairdos... while guys, vests are common sights, completed with platform shoes.. (luckily, minus the flabby disco shirts) hahaha
I will have to admit that I admire these peoples because they are bringing back the olden era in a modern flavor... and it looks goood.. don't you think so? because... Vintage Rules!!!:D
Finally, pictures time.. Enjoy!
