Where's The Cake?

Here at MDIS, we may be missing the National Day celebrations we're used to in government schools but that's not to say that we forgot and did not celebrate it. I am sure that some of us (Me! Me!) were glued to their TV sets watching the parade live.
I am proud to be a Singaporean.
I speak fluent Singlish, but I am able to comfortably switch to proper English when the occasion calls for it.
I have best friends of each race and we pepper our conversations with colorful Hokkien sometimes.
I can sing National Day classics like "Count On Me Singapore" and "We Are Singapore" on demand, and unbashedly.
So, even though I take on the role of an armchair critic every Aug 9, eyerolling at the blatant display of cheesy patriotic act of waving the flag, I know I love Singapore.
And to my peers - Singaporean and international students alike - I hope Singapore will be the land that gives you bounteous opportunities in the future.
And for a little funny-time:
We, the passengers of the MRT, pledge ourselves as one impatient people. Regardless of kids, elderly or disabled, to rush for unoccupied seats. Based on pushing, shoving or by any lethal means necessary, so as to achieve rest, sleep, slumber, for our very own comfort and selfishness. :)
