Just For Laughs - SC Style
The topic of politics is something that even certain groups of the Mass Communication students dread. The common view is that “It’s for the old folks, so let’s not bother so much about it”. To say that of politics is rather incorrect especially when certain stand-up comedians use it to humour their audience.
Maz Jobrani is an Iranian-American comedian who is part of the “Axis of Evil” comedy group. After watching his performances, you would find that Middle Eastern politics are not something that always has to be discussed in serious tones. His hilarious jokes would not only tickle the viewer but to also reflect upon the fact that Asian and Muslim stereotypes are a bit overboard. The thing is, he makes us realise that by not causing us to feel upset, but laugh at the way the West perceives us, especially if you happen to be an Asian or a Muslim.
