HO HO HO
It’s the start of another Christmas season and joy should bloom for all. But as it happens I find myself sitting in the office, listening to vagabond by Wolfmother and wishing I had a pending trip to Thailand or even to Genting for a short getaway after the exams.
Unfortunately the economy has a hit a new low thanks to the Dubai royal family royally screwing what could have been a nice turn for all. Now I’m not sure if I should be getting that new watch for my sister and perhaps downsize gifts to a teddy and some chocolates. Not even my team of 12 years (Liverpool) can help to lighten the mood as they have been playing like amateurs this season.
But not to go off track, although there seems to be more bad then good, there is also a sense of joy for those who look optimistic for a new year and the chance of a good night out in town with friends, family and for some, their significant others on Christmas day or new years eve. For me, tradition is that I get my yearly turkey dinner, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding, cranberry sauce and a viewing of Home Alone 1 with whichever sad person would be part of it and a glass of wine….followed by a night out in town with heavy drinking and memory loss.
So for all those in MDIS, happy Hanukka, Merry Christmas, Felis Navidad, and for the rest, my apologies for the lack of understanding of foreign languages but I wish all the readers of this brief message a warm (haha) and joyous Christmas. Stay safe, play safe and act safe (today’s key word: SAFE).
