Hello dear Sparkies! April Zara is back! Apologies for my absence, I was away in the US of A finishing up my last 3 modules for my degree. As tempting as it is to post multiple narcissistic entries about my US trip, I shall dedicate this post to the Degree in Mass Communications under Oklahoma City University program that's offered by our school.
The most simplified version of the whole Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications under Oklahoma City University explanation from our school's website:
The course is conducted on an intensive modularized system. Conducted on both day-time and evening basis, the entire program spreads over a period of 18 - 24 months and consists of 14 modules. Students will also attend a 3-week residency in Oklahoma City University during the course of study and this will include a hands-on production at the OKCU-TV Studio.
That basically sums it all up. We take one module at a time, and each module is taught over a period of 9 days. We get tutorials and (most of the time) post-assignments after each module, and we sit for the exam. After that, we move on to the next module and progress closer and closer to the ultimate goal - graduation and the much awaited 3-week on-campus residency in the US! Which by the way, surpasses all expectations because it's all well worth the wait! =)
Because I've graduated and I'm feeling really stoked, I shall indulge in a little bit of narcissism here:

Schooldays are the best days of our lives. The 'peak', if you must compare. For full-time students, the worry over work, family and financial matters are reduced to the minimal if you are still fully sponsored by your ever-loving parents.
In school, you meet the best (and sometimes, worst!) of people. Some become our closest friends and others, good acquaintances. Nevertheless, it is never too late to widen your social circle.

The MDIS Student Council was in attendance in the recent Sports and Wellness Open House held on Friday. The Open House was the first ever activity organized by the school. There were booths and workshops all over the school offering services and tips in areas of sports and wellness.
The Captain's Ball tournament held in the Samtas Hall saw some friendly competition between the various interest groups in MDIS. To name a few, the Dance Club, the Football Club and the Student Council.
Unfortunately for the SC team, they were beaten by the combined team from the Dance and Football club. The SC team had tons of fun nonetheless and may be back for a re-match!!

Our school has organized a 2Day -1 Night weekend getaway to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The previous trip they organized to Malacca (September 2007) was a great success and feedback from students was good. You may have been to KL many times before but going there with the company of your school friends is a totally different experience. If you're worried that it will be one of those 'controlled' tour trips where there will be 'babysitters' from school, it's far from it.
So this December, why not try going further up North?
