SPARKS the Student Council organized Deeparaya, a festive celebration of both Hari Raya and Deepavali. We set up booths selling handmade oil lamps, traditional goodies and even did henna for those who wanted to beautify their hands!

We do not claim to have every solution at hand and we sure are not the Oracle. To help us help you, join us for the VoiceBox session this Feb 29.
VoiceBox is a forum for the student body to air their views and concerns. Knowing what troubles you will aid us in making changes, creating a more conducive and comfortable environment in the school.

Wednesday marked the end of the Student Council's two-day lunchtime Christmas specials. We hope you guys enjoyed the performances and the games as much as we did. Well, I'm sure Santa and his Santarinas had a great time!

This Christmas, Santa's little helpers come in the form of the MDIS Student Council. Like little elves (minus the ears, bells and green uniform), we've been working hard to share the joy of Christmas to all our peers in school. By peers we mean, our international students who (unfortunately) have classes and are not able to spend Christmas with their families back home, and also our local students who (also, unfortunately) have classes during this festive season.
If you may have noticed, there are new additions to our Christmas display in the canteen! First there was the blue ceiling curtains and the blue and now we've added silver ones to liven up the mood. The Blue and Silver color scheme may remind you of prom and well, we have to agree, it does set the mood.
The Blue and Silver theme is a big giveaway of what's in store for MDIS in 2008. *Hint* Keep checking back in here for more insider tips for our plans in 2008.
We are also glad to hear from you guys thru the Christmas Wishbox. The response has been very encouraging. Finally MDIS has a voice that's not afraid to speak up! Please continue to write in your suggestions, wishes, rants and comments. They make us happy, really. Well, another thing, don't be afraid to leave us your contact details (email and/or handphone number) so that we can contact you regarding your 'wishes'. Rest assured all contact details we receive are kept confidential. We ain't here to sell contact details to spammers or whatnots. =)
We also have a number of eligible bachelors and bachelorettes in the Student Council who are not afraid to cast their nets further out to sea. By all means drop us your pictures as well! *Hint* Valentine's Day is 2 months away, this might be what you've been waiting for. Keep those letters coming, I say!

The Candy Canes are up in the Student Council Christmas Tree and the SC Roving Cam has spotted a couple of students who are up for some Peppermint goodness.
The Peppermint Candy Canes are FREE! Just pick them off the SC Tree. They are our freebies for the month of December. We will try our best to replenish the Candy Canes as often as we can so that you don't have to worry about running out.

This Christmas, the Student Council brings the festive joy to the MDIS UniCampus.

Those of you who were in school on Wednesday may have experienced the heavy downpour that was not at all forgiving, it was raining the whole day and we did not even see the bright sky! Besides the heavy rain, you may have also seen the December Deco Team up and about the canteen putting up the Christmas decorations.
Aside from the pillar and ceiling decorations, we also have the Student Council Christmas Tree, which is not just your ordinary tree. This tree is adorned with freebies for everyone! Starting Friday, the SC Christmas Tree will be decorated with REAL Candy Canes and everyone is welcomed to take as much candy as they want - they are FREE!
You may not see it now, but starting Friday, this tree will be decorated with real Peppermint Candy Canes and they are FREE for everyone! We, the people in the Student Council really have a sweet tooth, remember the Lollipops that we were giving out during the Expo?
The Candy Canes are our freebies for the month of December! A couple of lucky students already had a taste of the Candy Canes when we decided to give some out while decorating. So go ahead, indulge on those yummy peppermint candy, they only come once a year =)

Around The World Grand Prize Winner - Group 2! Congratulations!
Group 2 had 4 correct answers out of 6 questions, tying them with Group 1 who also had 4 correct answers. However, Group 2 finished the game 30 seconds faster than Group 1, making them our grand prize winners. Once again, from all of us at the Student Council, thank you for all the support and participation and congratulations to both teams for making it this far. We look forward to your continued support.
